Paul Cobb Oakland Post Publisher Joins Oakland News Now - Video
Oakland Post Publisher Paul Cobb is an Oakland Legend. He's known for a number of actions that have played major roles in Oakland History, and, indeed, American History. Paul was one of the founders of the Afro-American Association, the organization that gave birth to the Black Panthers in Oakland. Mr. Cobb was an activist who went to jail to bring attention to the fact that blacks were not getting jobs in Oakland. Paul Cobb also went to jail to pressure the Oakland Unified School District to hire a black executive director; the OUSD eventually hired the late Marcus Foster. Paul was the founder and first executive director of OCCUR, the Oakand Citizen's Committee for Urban Renewal, was an Oakland School Board Member, and then purchased the Oakland Post from another Oakland Legend, Thomas Berkeley. It's with great pleasure and much excitement that I announce Paul Cobb will be joining Zennie62Media and Oakland News Now as a blogger with the simple, two-word title of "Oakland Legend." Stay tuned.
