Oakland A’s Stomper Statues Celebrate 50th Anniversary Of Team In Oakland
Oakland A’s Stomper Statues Celebrate 50th Anniversary Of Team In Oakland - Video
The Oakland A’s Stomper Statues are taking over Oakland. There are fifty of these elephants around town and decorated in various colors and themes by different Oakland artists. For example, there are two Stomper Statues in front of and next to the Kingfish Pub. One of them is named for The Kingfish Bar and the other for The Oakland Public Library North Branch. The Kingfish Bar Oakland A’s Stomper is designed as a classic A’s mascot, whereas the Library one (just 20 feet away) is in the form of Robin from Batman And Robin, and called “Bat Boy.” That’s all awesome but who pays for this? Are the Oakland A’s putting up Stomper Statues with a cost attached? Did the Kingfish have to pay for its Stomper Statue? The owners of the popular Cal Bar told me “They gave it to us. Didn’t ask for a thing. But you have to know the Kingfish will pour Oakland A’s President Dave Kaval a cold one! Stay tuned.
