Can Rebecca Kaplan Beat Libby Schaaf In The 2018 Oakland Mayoral Election? - Video
Can Rebecca Kaplan Beat Libby Schaaf In The 2018 Oakland Mayoral Election? A source told me last night that Oakland Councilmember Rebecca Kaplan is considering a run for Mayor of Oakland - once again. Could the third time be the charm against Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf? Kaplan has ran for Mayor two times: in 2010 and 2014. She lost to Jean Quan and then to Libby Schaaf, but has been re-elected as At-Large Councilmember three times: 2008, 2012, and 2016. Now, with an Oakland electorate used to her and with two candidates she challenged having posted luke warm reactions by Oaklanders, 2018 just may be Kaplan’s year. If she runs.

Noel Gallo Oakland Councilmember Says Coliseum City Just One Of Three Sites For Amazon HQ Proposal The Oakland Coliseum site is not the only one being pitched for a possible Amazon HQ according to Oakland District Five Councilmember Noel Gallo. But since Oakland Council President Larry Reid told me that the Coliseum City project is not at all dead, then we have to assume Amazon would be made to fit within it, and then have sports and entertainment there as well. Abel Guillen Will Oakland Councilmember Kill Oakland A's Ballpark Plan?
Abel Guillen Will Oakland Councilmember Kill Oakland A's Ballpark Plan? - Video
Abel Guillen Will Oakland Councilmember Kill Oakland A's Ballpark Plan? Abel Guillen is the Oakland District Two Councilmember and all-around good guy and Cal grad running for reelection. The key issue for him is the Oakland Athletics work to build a ballpark at Laney College. The Oakland A's new ballpark will be a complete boost to an area of Oakland that needs it, but it also can displace many current residents unless action if taken to either install initiatives to prevent that, or kill the A's plan. There are some who think Councilmember Guillen just may do the later. Blogger Steven Tavares of East Bay Citizen raised that possibility during our talk about him. It's hard to see where Abel Guillen is coming from regarding the A's Ballpark. Is he for it or against it? Abel Guillen has to pick a side, otherwise his lack of a position and plan could be seen as weakness and cost him in his bid to be reelected. Stay tuned. Oakland Raiders Marshawn Lynch Suspended One Game For Unsportsmanlike Conduct - NFL Explains Why
Oakland Raiders Marshawn Lynch Suspended One Game For Unsportsmanlike Conduct - NFL Explains Why - Video
Marshawn Lynch Suspended One Game For Unsportsmanlike Conduct - NFL Explains Why In this press release, the National Football League (NFL) explains why Oakland Raiders Running Back Marshawn Lynch was suspended for one game: MARSHAWN LYNCH SUSPENDED ONE GAME FOR UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT MARSHAWN LYNCH of the Oakland Raiders has been suspended without pay for one game for unsportsmanlike conduct in Thursday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. NFL Vice President of Football Operations JON RUNYAN issued the suspension for a violation of Rule 12, Section 3, which states that "There shall be no unsportsmanlike conduct. This applies to any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship." Lynch also specifically violated Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1 (g) which prohibits "unnecessary physical contact with a game official." In his letter to Lynch, Runyan wrote: "You made deliberate physical contact with one of our game officials as he was diffusing an active confrontation between players. You were disqualified for your inappropriate and unsportsmanlike actions. Your conduct included pushing the game official and grabbing his jersey…You were not directly involved in the active confrontation that the game official was attempting to diffuse, nor were you a participant in the play that initiated the confrontation. You were the only player from either team who ran from the sideline to midfield to insert himself into a situation in which he was not directly involved." Lynch will be eligible to return to the Raiders' active roster on Monday, October 30 following the team's October 29 game against the Buffalo Bills. Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the suspension may be appealed within three business days. Appeals are heard and decided by either DERRICK BROOKS or JAMES THRASH, the officers jointly appointed and compensated by the NFL and NFLPA to decide appeals of on-field player discipline. # # #
