Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf Focus Of SEIU Campaign LibbysOakland.com

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf Focus Of SEIU Campaign LibbysOakland.com - Video

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf Focus Of SEIU Campaign The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) is launching a multi-pronged political campaign against Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf. Schaaf, the only person running for Mayor of Oakland again as of this writing, has received major criticism for her mishandling of police, housing, and leadership issues. The first action of SEIU was to make a website called LibbysOakland.com. LibbysOakland.com accuses the Mayor of favoring developers over people, breaking promises like with library hours (7 days a week was what she said, but is not happening), and poor response to citizen service demands for everything from 911 to illegal dumping cleanup. But the biggest part of their campaign is the news that SEIU has a person in the works to run against Libby. Some say it's former aide Peggy Moore, and others say it's former California Assemblyman Sandre Swanson. Whoever the choice, the main news is that a major union has taken up political arms against Libby Schaaf in her bid for reelection as Mayor of Oakland. Stay tuned.
