Oakland Lake Merritt BBQ Incident Compared To Carolyn Bryant Lying About Emmitt Till At the Tuesday, May 15th meeting of the Oakland City Council, and on what I call the BBQ Incident at Lake Merritt, this speaker compared it to Emmitt Till, asking if anyone knew who Carolyn Bryant was. Carolyn Bryant was the white woman who told her husband that black 15-year old Till said hello to her in 1955. For that, they killed him, sparking the civil rights movement. Jennifer Schulte, the woman who filed the Lake Merritt complaint, lied to police on the phone and said she was being pushed. On the video you can see no one was touching her or had touched her. Three years ago I vlogged that Oakland Adams Point had developed a racist Lynch mob climate toward black men.
