On 30 July 2017, Martin Sheen sat down with Esai Morales at Woodshed Recording in Malibu to endorse Esai for SAG-AFTRA President on the MembershipFirst slate. The memories of the first time they met came flooding back to them both. In 1988, during Cesar Chavez's "Fast for Life", in a show of solidarity both Martin and Esai fasted along with Mr. Chavez in support of The United Farm Workers.
