Patriots Offense Uses All 53-Yards Of The Field - Video
Patriots Offense Uses All 53-Yards Of The Field The New England Patriots present a great example of how an offense should use formations to spread out the defense and make holes for its passing game. This four wide receiver formation used in today's game against the Dallas Cowboys has the widest pass catchers beyond the numbers - note that the ball is between the hash marks. This produced enough space to effectively throw a slant pass before the safety could stop it. This was the gift that Baylor's Art Briles used and Sid Gillman pioneered in the 1960s.
