I spoke with a a long term community member about why he loved St. Vincent’s.
He said because they would not turn away anyone. Sitting in the emergency room was like sitting in the subway. You had rich and poor all together. If someone was dying and they were a bad person, a really bad character, the nun’s would sit and hold his hand so he did not die alone.
He just felt they mismanaged the business end of the hospital badly.
I have been posting YouTubes filmed by an activist about the on going meetings involving St. Vincent’s and also now the communities hope to locate a hospital in St. Vincent’s place.
I have to praise Yetta Kurland who her on going role trying to save St. Vincent’s and helping the community to find a solution that would bring a hospital in it’s place.
